My favorite disc of modern music
Hi
everyone! Today I will talk about a Album of Rosalía. This singer is very
famous in this moment because her disc “Mal querer”(2018). This disc is based
on a 14th century book that tells the story of a harmful relationship and the
violence against woman. The particularity if this story is that this is still
happening today. The disc has eleven songs and each of them is a chapter of the
story ordered chronologically.
The first: “MALAMENTE-Augurio” talks about a premonition character of a woman has.
In the second song, “QUE NO SALGA LA LUNA-Boda”, the man speaks, sentencing the bride to live forever with him.

In the second song, “QUE NO SALGA LA LUNA-Boda”, the man speaks, sentencing the bride to live forever with him.
The third song: “PIENSO EN TU MIRÁ-Celos” the man speaks again showing
his uncontrolled jealousy. This song is my favorite and has a very elaborated video and very
moving metaphoric images.
The fourth
song: “DE AQUÍ NO SALES-Disputa” is like an experimental song, where there are
no musical instruments, but there are motorcycle sounds and sirens.
In the fifth
song, "RENIEGO-Lamento", the woman regrets having met this man.
In the sixth song: "PRESO-Clausura" an actress talking about making a counselor character giving her testimony about the abuse she suffered.
"BAGDAD-Liturgia" It is the seventh song and shows the disconsolate suffering of the woman who prey for her pain ends.
The eigth song: "DI MI NOMBRE-Éxtasis" tells how the woman surrenders to the situation and lets herself be carried away in a sexual act with the hope that her grief disappears and turns into pleasure, but apparently the sex ends up being forced and becomes violent as a rape.
The nineth song: "NANA-Concepción" is a beautiful song that was made only with the voice of Rosalia, without instruments and tells about the consequence of the eighth song: The birth of a child.
In the tenth song, "MALDICIÓN-Cordura", the woman, having a son, understands that she has to do something about it and kills her oppressive husband, finally freeing himself from him.
Finally, the last song, "A NINGÚN HOMBRE-Poder", is a song of empowerment where the woman speaks to herself decreeing that no man will submit her again.
I think it is very important that everyone listen to this record because through music and art in general it makes you empathize with the violence and repression suffered by women before a man who only thinks of himself and sees women as objects of property. This is suffered by millions of women of all ages, all over the world. We must understand as a society that this continues to happen and that it has to end.
Listen to the album and watch the videos on YouTube. You will not regret it.

I find Rosalia so great, but I haven't been able to dedicate myself to listening to his music, I hope to do it at some point
